Powered by a high-precision spindle, the MDX-40A lets designers produce functional prototypes out of a wide variety of low cost, non-proprietary materials with great precision and fantastic surface finish.
Roland’s SRP® technology saves time by producing the parts that are smooth and precise right off the machine, whereas additive systems typically require time-consuming post finishing processes.
The optional scanning unit transforms the MDX-40A into a powerful and accurate tool for digitising an existing part or mould for your CAD software, allowing the MDX-40A to scan objects including modelling clay, glass or acrylic.

The included SRP® Player CAM and ClickMill software use an intuitive workflow and enable direct control of the MDX-40A for prototyping, surfacing, drilling holes, cutting pockets and other finishing processes. Also, the optional rotary axis means that the MDX-40A can perform unattended four-sided milling. Once one side is complete, the part is automatically rotated until all sides have been milled, saving time and allowing you to continue with your design work while your prototypes are being made.
