Roland DG's booth at FESPA 2018 in Berlin was a celebration of the theme 'What matters to you, inspires what we do’. Roland customers truly took centre-stage, and there was an incredible buzz with a host of interactive demos and features, an impressive showcase of solutions designed with end-users in mind, inspirational application displays and the all-important café for existing and future customers to grab a well-earned break and catch up with our team.
There was something to inspire everyone as visitors got up close and personal with our widest ever portfolio of print, cut, UV-LED and personalisation solutions.
Some exciting additions to our all-star line-up drew the crowds. One of these rising stars is the innovative VersaUV S-Series, which had its first FESPA showing in Berlin. Described as a ‘swiss army knife’ of a solution due to its incredible versatility, the heavyweight S-Series range of belt and flatbed UV-LED printers run instantly-curable ECO-UV inks, including white and gloss, to deliver vibrant colours and special effects on an almost endless variety of materials and objects up to 200 mm in height and 100 kg/sqm in weight.
Whether users are looking for a robust flatbed to print onto rigid substrates and items within jigs, or the option to print onto flexible, roll-to-roll or rigid materials and objects with a belt system, the versatility of configurations means that there is a VersaUV S-Series for everyone and the range of exciting applications is only limited by the user's imagination. Since its release to the EMEA market late last year, customers across the sign, industrial and retail markets have been transforming their production capabilities with S-Series technology.
In response to the major consumer trend in customisation, the new DGSHAPE LD-80 – the world's first laser foil decorator – also made its mark at the show. Taking on-demand product personalisation to a new level, the LD-80 provides a fantastically fast and easy-to-use alternative to traditional hot foil stamping, using laser technology to add metallic, gold, holographic or gloss details and finishes to a wide variety of items. FESPA visitors were inspired to add a touch of luxury to gifts, cosmetics, office and promotional products and more with this new, compact device.
Roland’s VersaUV LEF range of UV-LED flatbed devices are renowned for their versatility and visitors to the Roland stand were invited to come up with the most imaginative applications they could think of. Under the banner of 'What Will You Print?', Giovanni Re, Community Manager from Roland DG in Italy, ran live demonstrations on the VersaUV LEF-200 with an incredible range objects suggested by visitors. Seashells, spanners, bow ties and more – all got the LEF treatment with Giovanni at the helm.
Demos of the award-winning TrueVIS printer/cutters proved why TrueVIS is the ‘true’ print and cut solution in a no-compromise display of quality, productivity and versatility. Its popularity at the show confirmed why Roland is the number 1 in print and cut. Reflecting Roland’s FESPA theme of ‘What matters to you, inspires what we do’, the booth showcased the new Roland Hero Awards campaign; a celebration of the innovative, entrepreneurial and inspirational Roland users who span the EMEA region and who are creating great things with their Roland technology. Users are encouraged to share their stories for the chance to become the overall Roland Hero 2018 and winner of the holiday of a lifetime. Customers from Algeria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the UK have already shared their stories.
