Have you joined our band of Roland Heroes yet? In April, we launched the Roland Hero Awards 2018, a new competition celebrating our awesome users – with an amazing prize for one overall winner – and we've received lots of fantastic entries already.
We're asking you to share your stories about what makes you a Roland Hero. Is it your entrepreneurship, a drive to lead and succeed? Is it continuing a family business and bringing it bang up to date? Is it starting from nothing to create a flourishing new brand? How are you using your Roland equipment on your journey?
Over the last few months we've really enjoyed reading about what makes you special, but it's an emotional rollercoaster! We were especially moved by Hannah J Jewellery's story of bereavement and friendship and by Rebel Grafikai Stúdió's exhausting account of getting an almighty job finished on a Roland printer/cutter. That's what we call dedication.
We've heard tales of glory – Peak UK's new sportswear, designed with a Texart dye-sublimation printer, helped win a gold medal in the Olympics! – and entrepreneurs living the dream, like Copicad's mountain bike graphics business.
In Your Face are justifiably proud of using a Roland print and cut machine crammed into a rented apartment to eventually become a well-known windsurfing brand, while Custom Kings know the definition of 'lucky' when a bad accident led to the creation of a successful company using a TrueVIS print and cut device.
We've read very personal stories about family and home, tales of learning, education and sustainable innovation, and accounts of speed, creativity and beautiful designs.
So what's your Roland Hero superpower? We're accepting entries until 31st October 2018, after which we have the almost impossible task of choosing a winner. As well as being honoured with the title of Roland Hero 2018, the contender who best sums up what it means to be part of the Roland community will win a spectacular once-in-a-lifetime holiday.
Even if you don't win, it's an unmissable opportunity to be recognised for being totally awesome. It's what the Roland Hero Awards are all about.
