Roland DG’s New TrueVIS TR2 Eco-Solvent Ink Technology Receives Avery Dennison ICS Performance Guarantee and Six-Hour Outgassing Approval for Printed Graphics
Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters worldwide, is proud to announce that Avery Dennison has awarded their advanced ICS Performance Guarantee for graphics printed with new TR2 eco-solvent ink and the new TrueVIS VG2 series 1625 mm and 1371 mm (64” and 54”) wide-format eco-solvent printer/cutters.
According to Kohei Tanabe, President of the Roland DG Digital Printing Business Division, the ICS Performance Guarantee provides warranty protection for up to 4 years for outdoor printed graphics and up to 7 years for indoor graphics. “Just as exciting for users of the TrueVIS VG2 series and Avery Media combination,” Tanabe said, “is that after widespread testing, Avery has set the recommended outgassing time at just six hours. This dramatically reduces the print and laminate timeframe recommended for traditional solvent technology by 75%, allowing users to easily implement same day print and laminate workflows in their businesses and retain a full graphics warranty.”
“We at Avery Dennison work closely with printing experts like the engineering teams at Roland DG to create production solutions that offer superior performance and peace of mind to our customers,” said Paul Roba, Avery Dennison OEM Relationship Manager. “We are happy to add another high-quality print platform with the TrueVIS VG2 series and TR2 ink to our extensive Integrated Component System Warranty Program. We continue to provide thoroughly tested solutions to our PSPs, increasing confidence in graphic performance and identifying throughput improvement processes.”
The TrueVIS VG2 series adopts a new generation of eco-solvent TR2 ink. In order to take full advantage of the VG2’s superior colour reproduction capability and the wide colour gamut provided by TR2 ink, a True Rich Color preset was also created – allowing vibrant colours to be combined with neutral greys, smooth gradations and natural skin tones for producing stunning graphics.
“Extensive product development was completed for the new TrueVIS VG2 Series printer/cutters in combination with the new and advanced TR2 ink,” Tanabe said. “The Avery ICS performance guarantee in conjunction with the six-hour outgassing capability provides confidence in the new technology we have implemented to help our customers excel in the real world, where professional graphics producers demand durable high-quality output with brilliant colour and fast turnaround.”
Paul Willems, Head of Business Development and Product Management, Roland DG EMEA adds “The backing of new TrueVIS VG2 and TR2 ink by leading media manufacturers' warranties reflects the fact that eco-solvent is still the leading technology for sign professionals- delivering the widest colour gamut with excellent light fastness, plus easy handling and fast lamination when needed, and only when needed. All this, combined with the most competitive running costs and impressive application versatility makes it a true ‘no compromise’ solution.
