Roland DG presents ultimate quality & versatility in UV printing with VersaUV S-Series at FESPA
Debut presentation of proven & innovative UV-LED flatbed and belt print solutions at FESPA, Roland DG Booth B20, Hall 2.2
Paul Willems, Head of Business Development and Product Management EMEA for Roland DG explains: “The VersaUV S-Series represents true choice and flexibility to fit into any workflow - ideal as a next step for existing users of benchtop UV printers, businesses with ambition looking to enter the world of UV printing or those with more ‘industrial’ scale requirements. Whether users are looking for a robust flatbed to direct print onto rigid substrates and objects, or the option to print flexible, roll-to-roll or rigid materials and items with a belt system, the versatility of configurations means that there is a new VersaUV S-Series for everyone and the range of exciting applications is really only limited by the user's imagination.”
Limitless range of profitable applications
The VersaUV S-Series delivers performance and reliability, while reaching new heights in terms of printing capability. Sturdy enough to handle substrates and objects weighing up to 100kg/sqm, with the VersaUV S-Series high-impact one-off graphics can be printed onto large or heavy substrates just as easily as volume production runs of customised smaller items. This offers users a virtually limitless range of profitable applications.
The groundbreaking VersaUV S-Series runs Roland ECO-UV ink which is instantly cured with low-temperature UV lamps for direct print onto almost any substrate or object either rigid or flexible, from leather and canvas to wood, plastic, glass, metals, acrylic, banner, vinyl, paper and more*.
For high-quality, high-profit output ECO-UV ink delivers stunning quality, durable colour graphics. White ink adds highlights or a base layer for dark colours and Gloss creates high-shine or matt finishes. Gloss layers can also produce textured effects, Braille or specialist markings for industrial applications – boosting value even further with unique and tactile finishes.
Since its release to the EMEA market, the response to the VersaUV S-Series has been overwhelmingly positive with customers across the sign, industrial and retail markets transforming their production capabilities with S-Series technology.
At FESPA, the Roland team will be running live demonstrations of the flatbed and belt models to highlight the full capabilities of the solution and showcase the innovative new Object Profiling Functionality (OPF). This exciting enhancement enables the scanning and printing of objects of different heights within the same print run, offering users an even greater level of versatility.
Users also have a choice of RIP software; Roland VersaWorks Dual or Roland PrintStudio. Roland VersaWorks Dual is included as standard as part of the printer package.
Gillian Montanaro, Head of Marketing EMEA for Roland DG concludes: “Anyone looking to stand out from the crowd and to add value to their offering will have their imagination fuelled by the capabilities of the VersaUV S-Series. Essentially, if it fits in a VersaUV S-Series printer – and, thanks to the generous height, an incredible variety of objects and substrates will – then you can print on it. This could be anything from heavy wooden doors, large exhibition graphics, long pieces of canvas, rolls of banner, or multiples of small items such as phone covers for customisation. The VersaUV S-Series really pushes the extremes of what is possible in print and we’re very excited to bring the solution to the FESPA audience. The S-Series perfectly fits our main theme for FESPA, what matters to our customers, inspires what we do!”
For FESPA visitors with more modest production requirements, the Roland booth will also feature the VersaUV LEF-300 and LEF-200 UV-LED flatbed printers, plus its award-winning TrueVIS eco-solvent wide-format printer/cutter range, dye-sublimation print technology and a range of small print, cut and personalisation devices.
