Roland DG honours Paul Willems for innovative product development

Roland DG is delighted to announce that Paul Willems, Head of Product Management and Business Development at Roland DG EMEA, has been honoured in the annual company awards.

Paul Willems and his team have been recognised for their contribution to innovative product development at Roland – exciting solutions borne on the back of real market application needs that are already causing a stir in the industry.

Notably, Paul has been integral to the conception and success of the VersaUV S-Series flatbed and belt UV-LED printers, the VersaEXPRESS RF-640 8-colour printer and the Texart RT-640M multi-functional large-format sublimation printer – all of which have been launched in the last year.

For market-spanning graphics production, the industrial VersaUV S-Series is designed for maximum versatility thanks to its ability to print directly to practically any substrate, and is available in a number of configurations. The VersaEXPRESS RF-640 8-colour inkjet printer was developed to give sign-makers the competitive edge, with incredible quality printing in CMYKLk plus Orange, Green and Red – at the lowest price in its category.

In the textiles arena, the Texart RT-640M gives fantastic flexibility by delivering print ability both directly onto transfer paper and direct-to-textile on a single, cost-efficient device – ideal for apparel, interior decor and soft signage, as well as hard objects including promotional products and sports equipment.

These are perfect examples of Roland ensuring it remains close to the market and its customers, collecting direct market feedback that inspires innovative product developments. This approach has been shown to offer advantages to Roland's EMEA users as it provides access to market-specific products that offer a competitive edge in fast-moving industries. Other regions are also beginning to benefit from this ethos.

On announcing the winner of the annual award, Gregory Bilsen, President, Roland DG EMEA recognised the team effort of Roland innovations and the positive market response to the newly launched solutions.

"Roland has a long history of collaborative innovation that has influenced our evolution as a company and as a technological pioneer," he commented. "Paul Willems and his team really represents this approach. Thank you Paul, thanks to Paul's team and thank you very much to everyone at Roland for your support."
